This set of silver coins was made to commemorate the birth of Astro Boy on 7th April, 2003. It contains three coins featuring Astro Boy, Astro Boy flying, and Uran.

These same coin designs were used to mint four different commemorative coin sets in varying metals, weights, and face values. Those four sets included:-
- Solid gold $500 face value (limited to 2,003 sets)
- Solid gold $100 face value (limited to 2,003 sets)
- 999 silver $150 face value (limited to 2,003 sets)
- 925 silver $10 face value (limited to 5,000 sets)
