These Disgaea 4 clear cards were originally a set of five, consisting of Valvatorez, Fuka, Fenrich, Vulcanus, and Desco, and were given away at the Nippon Ichi Stall at Comiket 79, in December 2010. They were then made available as freebies from the Nippon Ichi online store during early 2011. In both cases, customers would be given a random one of these cards for every 2,000 yen that they spent at the store. If customers spent 10,000 yen or more, they would receive the complete set of five cards.

The set was expanded around the release of Disgaea 4, in February 2011, to include Emizel, Axel, and Prinny. Again, customers received a random one of these cards for every 2,000 yen that they spent at the store, and if they spent 14,000 yen or more, they received the whole set, except for the #8 Prinny card. The Prinny card was only available to customers who purchased the box set of Disgaea 4 trading figures, which sold for 6,800 yen - so customers would get the box set, the prinny card, + two other random cards.

The cards are made out of a clear, flexible plastic. It's the same sort of plastic as is used for clear files, except that these are smaller, and are cards.
