This Prinny backback was first made available at V-Jump Festa 2012, which was held from the 21st to the 28th July 2012 in Japan. It was then made available at various other festivals soon after, including the Summer 2012 SubCul Festa (29th July), Akihabara Electric Outside Festival (9th August), and Comiket 82 (10th - 12th August). During this time, the backpack was also put up for pre-order on the Japan Nippon Ichi store, with the pre-order period running from the 10th to the 19th of August. The backpack was officially released onto the Nippon Ichi store on the 24th of August, 2012.

This Prinny backback was also released in the USA, available from the NIS America online store beginning on the 26th Noverber 2012. Its release date coincided with the beginning of that year's NISA Holiday Sale.

The backpack is made to resemble a Prinny, with Prinny eyes, beak, belly, and pouch on the front, and wings on the back. It features two separate zipped compartments - a small compartment at the front where the Prinny's pouch is, and a large compartment at the back, being made up of the the Prinny's 'body'. The zippers have strong fabric zipper-pulls on them with the word 'PRINNY' embroidered onto them in blue thread.

The backpack measures approx. 40cm high x 30cm wide x 10cm deep (15.7" x 11.8" x 3.9").
