These oins were originally available in packets of trading cards. Each packet contained 5 cards and 1 coin. Each of the cards had scratch panels on the back, and the idea was to use the included coin to scratch the panels off.

There are 6 different coin designs to collect. They include:-
- Mario
- Bowser
- Geno
- Mallow
- Yoshi
- Peach

Each coin was available in three different colour variations - gold, silver, and bronze.
