These coins are similar to 'coindas', which are made by Bandai, but different. These were available only from arcade centres in Japan, from a Super Mario World machine. I think what happened was, you put a certain amount of coins into the machine, and then one of these SMW coins would come out... Like a Mario coin vending machine.

The coins were available in gold and silver variations. So far I only have 1 of the silver coins from the set (Yoshi).
