These Castle of Illusion pins were originally given away for free from the SEGA booth at E3 2013 in the USA. To obtain the pins, E3 attendees had to play through and beat two different levels from the game, which were each only playable at two different machines, making it impossible to get both pins at once. The round Mickey running from an apple pin was given after beating Level 1, and the rectangular Mickey and the castle pin was given for beating Level 5.

The pins are made of metal, and are '3D' in that they are made in layers, with Mickey being on one layer of metal, and the background images being on a separate but attached layer of metal.
